Purpose/Goal of 1st Canada Deaf 55+ Games - 2017

After succeeding our past 1st - 3rd Western Canada Deaf 55+ Games;

1st - Edmonton, AB - September 2011 (65+ participants)

2nd - Vancouver, BC - August 2013 (130+ participants)

3rd - Winnipeg, MB - August 2015 (120+ participants)

We, the WCD55+G Executive Committee during the second WCD55+G 2013 meeting approved to set up our 1st Canada Games in 2017 and grant the host bid of EAD Seniors Club to host it while Canada will be celebrating its very special celebratory year of 2017 - 150th years anniversary based on 1867 - 2017.  One (1) new regional games is called 1st Eastern Canada Deaf 55+ Games in Montreal, Quebec, August 2019 and 2nd ECD55+G - 2021 - “still open for time being”.  Then, our next 2nd CD55+G will be held in tentatively, Montreal, Quebec, August 2023. (every 6 years for our Canada Games plan)

4-Team Regional/Provincial Format of 1st CD55+G

1) Atlantic Regional Team (NB, PEI, NS & NL)

2) Ontario Provincial Team (Full Province of Ontario)

3) Quebec Provincial Team (Full Province of Quebec)

4) Western Regional Team (MB, SK, AB & BC)

All Deaf 55+ participants will choose only one event per day totalling up to 4 events for 4-day games competition for their respective team points to determine for team placing 1st - Gold, 2nd - Silver and 3rd & 4th - Bronze. They will receive an individual team medal and a diploma to bring home for their happy memoir.
